Excellence in education
for children with disabilities

Part of the mission of the Dominican Sisters of Eastern Australia

Overview

The curriculum at St Lucy's School is based on the Key Learning Areas of the NSW Board of Studies with

  • an emphasis on the development of communication, independence and self-efficacy
  • an individual approach to each child's learning, influenced by the Reggio Emilia philosophy
  • an appreciation of the role of play in developing understanding and relationship.

While literacy, numeracy, technology and the creative arts are taught separately, students also enjoy integrated work units that are part of a whole-school sequential approach to the teaching of science, human society and personal development.
