Social development at St Lucy's begins with the skills of relationship-building including sharing, taking turns, understanding other's emotions and caring about their needs.

Includes learning about the social environment; its different roles, learning the skills, understanding and knowledge necessary for engagement with society and responsibility.

Personal development includes emotional awareness and management, independence-skills, hygiene, protective behaviours, self-esteem and decision-making.

Outcome: Students can manage their emotions and themselves in order to interact productively with others for different purposes in a range of contexts.
